Real “Invisible” Umbrella Uses Multidirectional Air Jets To Protect You From The Rain

For years, people have tried perfecting the design of the umbrella, to no avail. No matter what, they have always been prone to flipping inside-out or breaking. But now, designers in China have developed a new sort of handheld device called Air Umbrella that doesn’t even have a flippable canopy or breakable metal spokes. Instead, this revolutionary “invisible” umbrella uses the power of air, streaming out in multiple directions, to redirect the rain, away from the person holding it upright.

Designer Chuan Wang of Air Umbrella is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project. The perks include different types of air-flowing umbrellas in the line, but none of the products are scheduled to be available until the final quarter of 2015.
